load The power output of a generator.
conductor A material or an object that conducts heat, electricity, light, or sound.
insulator A material or an object that does not easily allow heat, electricity, light, or sound to pass through it. Air, cloth and rubber are good electrical insulators; feathers and wool make good thermal insulators.
electricity The collection of physical effects related to the force and motion of electrically charged particles, typically electrons, through or across matter and space.
circuit Circuits in which a power source is connected to two or more components (such as light bulbs, or logic gates in a computer circuit), one after the other, are called series circuits.
current A flowing movement in a liquid, gas, plasma, or other form of matter, especially one that follows a recognizable course.
element A substance that cannot be broken down into simpler substances by chemical means. An element is composed of atoms that have the same atomic number, that is, each atom has the same number of protons in its nucleus as all other atoms of that element.
compound A substance consisting of atoms or ions of two or more different elements in definite proportions joined by chemical bonds into a molecule. The elements cannot be separated by physical means.
